According to a recent study by Indiana University, "those who were born in the 1990s - what some researchers call Generation Z or iGeneration - were significantly worse at remembering things they had seen."  A group of 800 individuals aged 18-24 years old were given a survey that queried them on their use of devices throughout the day, among other things.  What was uncovered about Generation Z's habits revealed an interesting correlation with memory loss.  The study found "that Snapchat and Instagram users have significantly worse 'working memory capacity than non-users."

Working memory is the ability to hold information in your mind for a short time, and it can be an important factor in memory formation.  Essentially, the more you use Snapchat throughout the day, the worse your working memory becomes.

Millennials and Gen X are having trouble with their short term memory for various reasons, including old age as well but there are many supplements that can help.
